hastings-pier-square

Hastings Pier won Pier of the Year earlier, and now wins the coveted RIBA Stirling prize as well as the people’s vote.

I documented part of the preparation for judging by the pier engineering team, on a very early morning shoot:

Pier to Eternity Sea Monsters vs Hell Lizards

Pier to Eternity fancy dress bicycle party is back!

First ride of the year is themed Sea Monsters vs Hell Lizards. After terrorising the pier, the group descended upon Hastings Old Town and ending up in Bottle Alley for ice cream courtesy of William the Conequeror. The new crowdfunded sound system is booming. You can bring your own bike radio and tune in for your own handlebar tunes too.

There she goes

Francesca Penny Farthing on Hastings Pier

There she goes
There she goes again
Racing thru’ my brain
And I just can’t contain
This feelin’ that remains

There she blows
There she blows again
(There she blows again)
Pulsing thru’ my vein
And I just can’t contain
This feelin’ that remains

There she goes, there she goes again
She calls my name, pulls my train
No-one else could heal my pain
And I just can’t contain
This feelin’ that remains

There she goes
There she goes again
Chasing down my lane
And I just can’t contain
This feelin’ that remains

There she goes
There she goes again
There she goes
There she goes again
There she goes
There she goes again

Stripes trending

stripes Royal Standard Hastings

Stripes are trending at the Royal Standard today (I’m going to get flak for this, but it is literally the best pub in Hastings). I gathered everyone with stripes on for this shot. Check out the kid with the stripy tiger T-shirt!

At the front are Emmet, who just had a huge beard shaved off for the A-T Charity, and Chris in the apron, who generally seems to be in charge (or is at least is only half in charge with Rosie) of the place most of the time 🙂

Thanks everyone for being a good sport.

A-T Charity, donate to Emmet’s page:
